Horseback Trail Ride (Hartbeespoort Valley)
A relaxed, guided horseback trail ride through open bushveld and dam-side trails in the Hartbeespoort valley, with the Magaliesberg as your backdrop. Calm, well-schooled horses and experienced trail guides make it comfortable for first-time riders as well as confident ones, and helmets are provided. The ride is priced per rider and runs with our own guided return road transfer from Johannesburg or Pretoria, added automatically at our standard transfer rate for your group size — it is not offered as a self-drive or as a stand-alone booking, so it is always combined with another experience on the day. It sits about an hour from Ukutula, so we place the ride in the morning and your Ukutula experience later the same day.

Do I need riding experience?
No — the trail is walked and gently trotted on calm, well-schooled horses, and the guide stays with the group throughout. Beginners and children from 6 are welcome.
Is transport included?
The ride price covers the horseback trail only. Our guided return road transfer is added automatically at our standard transfer rate for your group size and cannot be removed — this ride is not available on a self-drive basis.
Can I add it to a lion walk day?
Yes — it's about an hour from Ukutula, so we run the ride in the morning and your lion experience later the same day.
What should I wear?
Long trousers and closed shoes with a small heel are best. Helmets are provided.
