The Walk With Lions + Guided Predator Tour Combo is the most complete Ukutula experience and the best-value lion package near Johannesburg. In a single 3-hour visit you get both of Ukutula's flagship encounters — walking beside young lions in open bushveld, then meeting the reserve's lions, cheetahs and hyenas with an expert ranger. Booked together, the combo is R425 cheaper than buying each experience separately.
It's the option most first-time visitors choose because it removes the "which one do I pick?" problem entirely. The 08:00 start is the sharpest for photography (golden-hour lion walk followed by a still-cool predator tour); the 14:00 start suits guests coming in from Johannesburg or Pretoria on a leisurely day trip. How long is the combo?
About 3 hours from start to finish — Walk With Lions first, then the Guided Predator Tour.
What times does the combo run?
Twice daily: 08:00 in the morning and 14:00 in the afternoon, Monday to Sunday.
Is it cheaper than booking separately?
Yes — R1,700 pp for both, compared to R2,125 booked as two separate experiences.
What is the minimum age?
The Lion Walk portion is strictly 12 years and older, and the 1.5m minimum height applies to every guest — adults included. Children under 12 are welcome on the Guided Predator Tour portion of the same visit and are charged R425 each — they simply do not join the walk itself.
Can I book children under 12 on the combo?
Yes. Add them as children and the system charges only R425 per child for the Guided Predator Tour. Children must be accompanied, so one adult stays with them while the others walk with the lions, or the adults take turns — nobody misses an activity.
